About

We are a compassionate community re-entry and transitional housing program dedicated to helping individuals and families rebuild their lives after homelessness, addiction, or difficult times.

At our core, we provide safe, shared transitional housing (with separate facilities for men and women) along with comprehensive support services including addiction recovery counseling, peer support groups, life skills development, and hands-on job training. Residents gain real-world work experience through our on-site programs and businesses, including construction, landscaping, hospitality, our movie theater, and restaurant.

What makes us different is our "pay-it-forward" culture. We create a judgment-free environment where everyone works, grows, and supports one another. Our movie theater and restaurant serve as community hubs, bringing residents and neighbors together to build connection, hope, and belonging.

We also operate a community food bank to support families in need throughout the area.

Our goal is simple: to help every resident achieve lasting self-sufficiency, dignity, and a fresh start — one life at a time.

“Hope. Housing. Healing. Second chances start here.”

Our Mission

Our Mission

At Helping Hands of Elma, we create a new beginning. A place where anyone who needs help can find support. Whether you’re facing hard times or just need a hand, you’re welcome here. We offer transitional housing for both men and women, along with caring counseling and peer support. We also provide construction services for disabled individuals and seniors at lower costs than a traditional construction company, with a built-in training program. And through our restaurant, we offer free meals in a family-style setting with no judgment. Our low-cost movie theater with popcorn and a soda included brings the community together, creating spaces of hope, connection, and second chances. We also offer a recording studio and music program to help people express themselves and build new skills. We offer counseling as a career path. Through hands-on training and real experience, people can learn to help others while healing themselves. And that’s why we reach out with everything we’ve got. Your support, your donations, help us keep this family strong, offering real second chances and building a community where no one ever has to feel alone again.
